The meeting of the Academic Council was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the address of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy N. Nazarbayev at the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
– The historic address by Elbassy at the anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly once again demonstrated to the world community the high responsibility of our country towards humanity and future generations, confirming convincingly, by example, that peace-loving foreign policy and harmonious inter-ethnic and interfaith domestic policies are the elements of real security. Of particular importance is the fact that the address by Elbassy was presented in the state language. For the first time in history, the address in the Kazakh language was delivered from the high rostrum of the UN.
In his speech, the First President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the fact that in the XXI century, the central task of humanity should be the implementation of a strategy that will forever rid the world of threats and eliminate their causes. To that end, he proposed that the Plan of the Global Strategic Initiative 2045 be developed by the UN’s 100th anniversary. Nursultan Abishevich also put forward a number of initiatives, including the adoption of the UN Universal Nuclear-Weapons-Free World Declaration.
Thus, Elbassy proposed a universal plan to address global challenges. Its adoption and implementation will be a new stage in the development of not only the UN, but also the entire humanity, – said the moderator of the meeting, Chairman of the Academic Council, Director of the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, Doctor of political science, Professor Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov.
The speaker emphasized that Kazakhstan, represented by the First President N. Nazarbayev, participated in all nuclear security summits held from 2010 to 2016, and took serious measures to strengthen it at the national level. With its active actions, Kazakhstan has established itself as a firm and consistent supporter of the creation of a safe world free of nuclear weapons.
– Returning to the text of this speech, you are amazed at the ability of Elbassy to foresee the course of historical events. Note that our President proposed at that time, five years ago, the development of a comprehensive plan to address global challenges. And so, five years later, our country and all of humanity are facing such a very serious challenge as a coronavirus pandemic. It is difficult to say how many more similar challenges await us. Therefore, the adoption and implementation of such a plan will undoubtedly become a new stage in the development of all mankind," said Igor Rogov, who took part in the meeting by videoconference.
